July 1941, the second week of the great war is underway. Despite the fact that several units of the 7th PTABr and 6th mechanized corps stopped and then fled the seventh tank division of the Wehrmacht, the situation in the Bialystok ledge did not improve. On the contrary, it turned from a ledge into the Bialystok boiler. And this situation was not only on this separate section of the front. The entire west of the USSR burned with fire, and essentially the destruction of the Red Army took place. In such conditions, commander Yuri Cherkasov was appointed commander of the 10th Army and took full responsibility for the catastrophic state of affairs in the Bialystok ledge.
