This edition of the Dictionary of Russian Folk Dialects preserves the principles of the first edition both in the selection of lexical units and in the nature of the lexicographic development of dictionary material. The dictionary presents the dialect vocabulary and phraseology of all Russian folk dialects of the 19th and 20th centuries. To prepare the publication, ethnographic observations, works of oral folk art, and testimonies of writers were used.
