Over the past 40 years, one of the most popular information and music radio stations in the country, Mayak, scrupulously reflected large and small events that took place in the country and the world, actively influenced the formation of public opinion, and changed itself as a result of historical changes. The history and reasons for the longevity of Mayak, the interdependence and interconnection of the life of the radio station and the state, told by the journalists of the radio station and supplemented by archival documents, photographs from the personal archives of Mayak correspondents, constitute the content of the book.
