The tutorial consists of two sections. Self-study questions are given at the end of each chapter. In the first section of the manual, the main stages of the development of building materials science are considered, information on chemical bonds and the structure of solids is given, the processes of formation of building materials, strength and deformation properties from the standpoint of solid state physics are characterized. The second section is devoted to the practice of production and use of basic building materials.
