Basic provisions for designing bases and foundations of buildings and structures of normal and increased criticality rating are considered. Particular attention is paid to the determination of loads on elements and parts of buildings, the choice of a rational foundation design, the assessment of the work of foundations and foundations in seismic areas and other issues.
