Blast welding is a high intensity transient action that produces metal compounds that have not otherwise been produced. The book includes the results of electron microscopic studies conducted by the authors of several dozen welded joints. For some compounds, the starting metals have mutual solubility, for others they do not. Compounds having both planar and undulating boundaries were investigated.
