For the first time in domestic literature, geopolitics is considered as a science and as a political practice of global interaction of states in the context of the totality of factors that determine the strategic potential of states in the modern world. A systematic presentation of geopolitics as a scientific discipline is presented, the evolution of geopolitical ideas and concepts is traced, the current state of geopolitics is revealed.
