For the first time in historiography, historical textology is presented as an independent discipline, which is an important part of the historian's professional training. The textbook deals in detail with theoretical issues related to the definition of text as a source of retrospective information, as well as the basic terms of historical textology, and shows what its difference is from classical philological textology.
