It contains a broad picture of the busy life of the then Petrograd. In the center of the story are the heroic deeds of the red counterintelligence officers, the predecessors of the Chekists and the Chekists themselves, who liquidated a number of major conspiracies of the White Guard, right-wing Socialist-Revolutionary underground, and terrorist organizations.
