Processes in a neutral atmosphere, formation of the ionosphere and vertical distribution of ionospheric parameters are considered. Particular attention is paid to new ionosphere research methods, incoherent scattering of radio waves and the method of numerical modeling of the ionosphere and the results obtained using these methods. Factors affecting the ionosphere solar radiation, geomagnetic field, processes in the magnetosphere are described.
