The need for extensive implementation of herbal medicine in dermatology and cosmetics prompted the writing of this monograph, which at the same time is an attempt by the author to satisfy the need of dermatologists and cosmetologists for guidance in conducting treatment with medicinal herbs in their daily medical practice. The monograph contains general and specific data on the therapeutic possibilities of medicinal plants when exposed to the skin. Classification of medicinal herbs based on their dermotropic effect and indications for their use are given. In alphabetical order, treatment of a certain number of nosological units in dermatology and cosmetics is described. A significant number of phytorecepts and phytoprocedures are given. The main therapeutic data of more than 170 medicinal plants growing in Bulgaria are indicated. Diseases, cosmetic defects and medicinal plants are also distributed in alphabetical order when describing them. Intended for dermatologists and general practitioners, the monograph can also be useful for students of medical and dental faculties.
