The determinant includes clues for definitions, descriptions of 69 species of sharks and 37 species of rays living in the waters of Northwest Africa from Morocco to Guinea. For each species, a figure is given, the main synonyms, the accepted names of the FAO, local names, a description of the species, including a diagnosis, brief data on biology, ecology, commercial significance, fishing methods, possible danger to humans, and the status of a protected species.
