This paper examines the problems of personal changes arising in a new social situation of personality development set by the formation of Internet culture. Data on the study of the character, self-awareness and cognitive sphere of Internet residents are presented; features of emotional and value regulation of behavior on the Web are considered; an analysis of the prospects for personal development in the information society is given.
