This collection presents the works of the outstanding German jurist and political thinker Karl Schmitt of the early 1930s. The most voluminous essay - "The Guarantor of the Constitution" (1931) - is devoted to finding a way out of the difficult constitutional situation in which the Weimar Republic found itself at the time of its systemic crisis.
