The book Ports of the Western Pacific describes the ports of China, Korea, Japan, France's possessions in Indo-China, the Malak Peninsula and Dutch India, mainly in naval terms, that is, everything related to fortifications, garrison, docks and means to fix ships. The book is composed mainly of reports from squadron chiefs, ship commanders and officers sailing in the Pacific Ocean.
