The book is dedicated to the life and scientific activities of a major Soviet mineralogist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine A.S. Cooks, one of the founders of the crystal chemical direction in mineralogy, a famous historian and methodologist of science. Of great importance were his works in the field of new systematics of mineral species on a crystal chemical basis.
