The manuscript is based on the dramatic events of August 2008, and the subsequent activities of the leadership of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the FSB of Russia, and one of its head departments during the period of a complex, far from unambiguous and painful reform of 2008-2012 in the Russian army.
