The book includes romantic folk legends collected by the writer, connoisseur of the Celtic language and literature E.V. Balobanova (1847-1927) while traveling in Brittany at the end of the 19th century. Before the revolution, these often gloomy and fatalistic traditions and fantasies, imbued with a deep religious feeling, withstood two editions in the processing of Balabanova, the second of which was illustrated by the most prominent graphic artist E. L.L ancere.
