The book provides general information on cartographic projections, conical, azimuthal cylindrical, perspective projections. A separate chapter of the book is devoted to the compilation and publication of maps. The true appearance of the Earth's surface, observing similar contours on a constant scale, can only be depicted on a globe. However, the globe showing the modern knowledge of the earth's surface is of limited use.
