For a wide range of readers and everyone interested in the history of the Earth, the evolution of ecosystems and global ecology. The text part of the book contains data on the main stages of the development of our planet and its biosphere. The illustrations are intended, as accurately and clearly as possible, to represent the life of fossil animals in their habitat. When preparing the album, its creators, paleontologists and artists, tried to follow the high scientific and artistic traditions laid down many decades ago by the joint work of Prague University professor J. Augusta and Czechoslovak painter Z. Burian.
