The monograph is dedicated to the pre-Muslim beliefs of Chechens and Ingush. Beliefs are described in connection with the establishment of the family, social and legal life of these peoples. Early religious ideas and pagan cults are considered, materials on the history of the spread of Christianity and Islam in Chechnya are given. Unique material related to the cults of local pagan deities was used. The consequences of the adoption of Islam and the general syncretic nature of the folk religion of Chechens and Ingush are analyzed.
