Every year, the growing need for children and a relatively very small number of children's books from Russian life gave us the idea to write "Gallery of Children's Portraits" based on the best Russian writers, where children would get acquainted with Russian life, with Russian children. So in Russian literature there are many beautiful books that, in their content or volume, cannot be given to children as a whole for reading, then we began to carefully select exclusively children's types from those produced by our first-class writers.
