This book is a logical continuation and addition to Ilion. Both Hissarlyk and the rest of Troas were systematically and thoroughly excavated by Schliemann. He scrupulously studied every ancient settlement of Troas and the place where Troy itself stood. The results served to some extent to add to and correct the conclusions he reached at "Ilion" and are of the highest value to science.
