The book offered to the reader is a collection of materials (many of which are published for the first time) characterizing the life, personality and work of one of the largest artists of the Russian realistic school of the 19th century - Nikolai Nikolayevich Ge (1831-1894). N. N. Ge was one of the founders of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, of which he remained a member until the end of his days.
