The purpose of the dissertation research is a comprehensive study of the problem of solving the food issue during the First World War and the revolution of 1917. To do this, it was necessary to study the state of food supply in Russia during the war, taking into account the changes that developed in the economy, the activities of the state apparatus; the state of the Armed Forces and the peculiarities of the food supply of the front and the food state of the rear, the possibilities of the national economy in solving the food issue in Russia in 1914-1917.
