The book consistently presents the results of a long study of the problem of the national originality of Russian architecture of the New Age. This book was not conceived as an ordinary consistent presentation of the history of Russian architecture of that very long period, the boundaries of which are the beginning of the 18th century and the 1917 revolution. We set ourselves the goal of considering the architectural heritage of this historical period from a specific angle, which makes it possible to assess the degree of its national originality.
