Memories of contemporaries about Pushkin have one feature, which is discovered only when their texts are collected together. Then it turns out that they themselves fit into a clear chronological series, as if forming the outline of the poet's biography: Lyceum, Petersburg, south, Mikhailovskoye, Moscow, Caucasus, Petersburg. In such a "memoir biography" there is no single voice: the speech of the writer and politics is interrupted - sometimes for a long time - by the ingenuous story of a peasant, the memories of a childhood friend - by the speculation of a random fellow traveler. This is a reflected biography, mosaically composed of different - and not always benign - material.
