The book is the first publication of its kind in the USSR, revealing to the reader a panorama of Italian poetry from the time of its origin to the era of Risorgimento (XIX century). Poems are given with parallel texts of translations belonging to both the pen of Russian classics (G. Derzhavin, K. Batyushkova, A. Akhmatova, etc.) and modern Italian translators.
