The monograph is devoted to the history of multi-lexemic proper names of personality and anthroponymous formulas underlying them. The work reconstructs the pre-Slavic system of anthroponyms, explores the internal and external reasons for the transition from a single-lexical system of naming a person to anthroponymous formulas, traces their evolution in the East Slavic, South Slavic and West Slavic languages. The process of development of the anthroposystem is seen as a sociolinguistic problem.
