Introduces the basic concepts and properties of asynchronous discrete devices. Issues of minimizing the number of states, various methods of coding states, types and effects of delays, various types of internal signal competition, methods of preventing competition in circuit development, issues of minimizing the number of feedback loops, the number of amplifiers in them, and some special types of circuits are considered. The properties of asynchronous circuits and their design methods are illustrated by examples of various counters and registers used as DMC nodes.
