The book is the first systematic study in Russian and Soviet scientific literature of one of the most famous monuments of ancient prose - "Parallel Biographies" by Plutarch of Cheronei, which had a huge impact on European literature of subsequent eras. For this research, the author was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize for achievements in the field of science and technology.
