The purpose of the work is to analyze the tax policy of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as during the post-war economic recovery in 1946-1953, carried out in the constituent entities of the country on the example of the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, to assess the level of effectiveness of the mobilization capabilities of the Soviet model of management in the critical period.
