In my opinion, it would be some exaggeration to say that the thinker Immanuel Wallerstein is widely recognized and read in Russia. At one time, the Russian edition of his book "After Liberalism" delighted selected intellectuals, but we are still in no hurry to translate this thinker more widely. However, little known does not mean "not in demand," and elitist does not mean "complicated." The release in Russian of the book "Mirosystem Analysis: Introduction" testifies to the growing interest in the theory of the American researcher, who had a rare success - to become a classic during his lifetime. This publication can be safely called an event, which is supported by a very significant circulation of three thousand copies at the present time.
