This book is the first monograph in Russian about Albrecht Altdorfer (1480-1538), an outstanding artist of the German Renaissance, which has now become rare, since most copies of this book are in private collections and are not available to a wide range of painting lovers, students and specialists. Altdorfer was a master of engraving and drawing on tinted paper; he was a founding member of the landscape genre. The book tells about the creative path and evolution of the artist's style, which developed within the framework of the Danube school of painting. The book is written in lively, vivid language, richly illustrated with tone and color illustrations.
