We already know about many feats of heroes from books, newspapers and magazines. We learn a lot from the stories of war veterans during meetings with them. And how many more nameless heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad are waiting for a worthy word about themselves, printed lines! To some extent fill this gap over time, the Lower Volga Book Publishing House decided to release a large series of books entitled "The Feat of Stalingrad is Immortal." The book "Fiery Island" was written by the Hero of the Soviet Union, Colonel-General Ivan Ilyich Lyudnikov, whose name is one of the sections of the Volga coast in Volgograd. Here, in the days of the Battle of Stalingrad, the soldiers of the 138th Red Banner Rifle Division with their brave commander Lyudnikov stood to death, but did not let the enemy pass to the Volga, and defended the occupied line of defense to the end.
