The documentary story of G. Nagaev tells about the wonderful inventor and designer Hero of Socialist Labor Georgy Semenovich Shpagin. The book reveals the process of forming the character of a worker-inventor, his gradual growth as a person who has devoted his whole life to creating weapons for the soldiers of the Soviet Army. The main thing in the story is to show the creative search for a designer during the period of his creation of the most important invention - the PPSh assault rifle (Shpagin submachine gun), which is well known to every participant in the Great Patriotic War.
