The book examines the institutional and state aspects of medieval political history. Particular attention is paid to the history of law, psychology and mentality of man of the Middle Ages, the problems of the formation of political traditions, the broadcast of culture, the transformation of society. Of particular interest are the experience of sociological analysis of the concept of "empire," the analysis of potestary, sacred and other types of power. The section on ideas, propaganda and ceremonial in medieval society is based on materials that form a special direction in research search today - an imagology that studies the principles of constructing images of the monarch.
