This volume begins the publication of the works of the outstanding historian and socio-political figure Mikhail Grushevsky (1866-1934). The first volume contains articles of a historiosophical nature, which determined the direction and activities of the national liberation movement in the late XIX - early XX centuries, as well as the journalism of the scientist of the 1894 - 1907 years, which was published mainly in the journal Literary and Scientific Bulletin.
