Yeznik Kokhbatsi (380-450gr.) - an outstanding representative of the "Golden Age" of ancient Armenian literature. "Refutation of false teachings" was written by him in the 440s in defense of Christian dogma against the pagan ideas of the ancient world and the religious system of Zoroastrianism (Mazdeism) - the state religion of Sassanid Persia, which forced Armenians to apostasy. As a unique monument of ancient Armenian philosophy and literature, Yeznik's work is included in the treasury of early Christian writing along with the works of Irenaeus, Ephraim the Syrian, Basil of Caesarea and other representatives of Christian apologetics and patristics.
