The book is devoted to the study of the main problem that Fichte is trying to solve - one of the leading representatives of German idealism, namely the problem of freedom. Relying on the transcendental idealism of Kant, Fichte seeks to create a monistic system, in its content opposite to the so-called dogmatic philosophy, the most consistent defender of which, according to Fichte, was Spinoza. The book reveals the evolution of Fichte's theoretical views associated with an attempt to free himself from the inherent freedom of internal contradictions.
