The book was written by a participant in the revolutionary battles for Soviet power in Chechen-Ingushetia (1919-1920) Alexander Nikolayevich Popov, former adjutant N.F. Gikalo. It contains many new interesting facts from the history of revolutionary events in Chechnya. At the end of the book is a brief recollection of A. N. Popov's wife, Maria Efimovna Inchik-Popova.
