The book addresses some of the fundamental problems of literary science and art culture in general, and above all the problem of communication in the history of literature of the past and present, as well as the question of the basic methodological principles of literary criticism, the approach to the study of the classical heritage from the standpoint of modernity, on the combination of the study of the history of the creation of a work of art with the study of the history of perception and sound of this work up to the present.
