Eger came to Auschwitz when she was 16 years old, there she lost her parents, and she and her sister managed to survive. A few years after her release, she emigrated to America, where she worked for decades to heal from her trauma. In this book, the story of her stay in a concentration camp and her liberation, the story of self-healing and what role Victor Frankl, a psychotherapist and also a survivor of Auschwitz, played in this process, as well as the stories of her patients, whom she helped to survive difficult moments. According to the author, no one can avoid suffering in his life, but everyone has a choice how to get out of such situations - like the victim or the one who survived. And this book is about how to get to such a choice, how to free yourself from injuries.
