The peculiarity of the atmospheric structure of the planet divided the world in which Ronan was born into three parts: upper, middle and lower. Being the richest man of a half-starved backward lower world, a man redeems a girl sentenced to death for the fact that she, Shilta, is a witch sending pestilence and disease. In gratitude for her salvation, the girl becomes Ronan's powerful patroness, helping to defeat death and find an invaluable mineral that the man spent many years searching for.
