In the first third of the 20th century, Central Asian explorer Sven Hedin was the most famous Swede in the world, and after World War II his name was forgotten for many years. In his youth, Khedin dreamed of the glory of Przhevalsky, his outstanding geographical discoveries took place with the help and full support of the Russians - both the tsarist government and ordinary people - but this did not prevent him from repeating with manic persistence about the Russian threat to Europe. In his Nordic blood flowed a bit of Jewish, but at the same time he sometimes showed cave anti-Semitism. After the Nazis came to power in Germany, he became friends with fascist bons, and took the defeat of the Germans in the war as a personal drama. In everything he did, Hedin went to the end, showing incredible perseverance in both achievements and delusions. Axel Odelberg, the biographer of Sven Hedin, does not embellish his hero, he simply writes a truth about him that will not leave anyone indifferent.
