The monograph addresses the theoretical and practical aspects of establishing brain death. Clinical manifestations are described, giving reason to state brain death, EEG data and features of its registration, special studies confirming brain death, pathomorphological characteristics. Particular attention is paid to the problem of establishing death on the basis of criteria for brain death (including legal aspects) and the attitude towards it in different countries.
