Battle of Tarutino (also found as the Tarutinsky battle and the Tarutinsky maneuver) - a battle that took place on October 6 (18), 1812 in the vicinity of the village of Tarutino, Kaluga Region, between Russian troops under the command of Field Marshal Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov and the French troops of Marshal Joachim Murat.
