The monograph discusses general issues of the origin and history of the Jewish people, features of the historicoanthropological appearance and languages, as well as the problems of studying Jewish folklore and ethnography. The main attention is paid to the ethno-political history and the originality of the traditional culture of Russian Jews: their occupations, costume, life cycle rites, religious holidays, food, folk knowledge, folklore, arts and crafts, education.
