For the first time in the book, the main directions in the creation of positive displacement motors are considered. Theoretical foundations, kinematics, dynamics, mechanical and hydraulic features of downhole screw engines are presented. Much attention is paid to the technology of drilling wells with downhole screw motors. Their use in well workovers and workovers is described. An overview of the designs of screw downhole engines of domestic and foreign production is given.
