1938, Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. A young criminal investigator arrives in a resort town on the Black Sea coast to solve the brutal murder of an astronomy professor in 2017, St. Petersburg. A patient appears in the city mental hospital, claiming that a woman from a distant planet is communicating with him, experiencing a catastrophic war and the death of civilization. The Dawn spacecraft makes the first interstellar flight in human history to the planet Proxima Centauri b in search of extraterrestrial life. The three stories are woven together to end up telling of an eternal evil that always comes back.
